Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 18 April 2026
1. Agreement
By using LearnAI (“the site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The site is operated by Simon Elliston Ball (“we”, “us”).
2. What the site is
LearnAI is an educational resource on applied AI. It includes written lessons, interactive canvases, scenarios, playgrounds, and an AI tutor. It is provided free of charge, as-is, on a best-effort basis.
3. Not professional advice
Nothing on the site is legal, regulatory, medical, financial, or safety advice. Content on the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, responsible scaling, and similar topics is summary commentary for learning purposes only. Always consult a qualified professional for advice that matters.
4. AI output disclaimer
Features such as the tutor, scenario feedback, canvas critique, scenario synthesis, and the eval runner generate text using third-party large language models. Output can be inaccurate, outdated, biased, or entirely fabricated (“hallucinated”). You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on. Do not use AI output for decisions affecting health, safety, legal rights, financial outcomes, or other consequential matters without independent review.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site, the tutor, or any AI feature to generate illegal, infringing, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, or safety-critical content.
- Attempt to extract training data, model weights, system prompts verbatim, or bypass safety mechanisms in the underlying models.
- Submit personal data about identifiable third parties, regulated health or financial data, trade secrets, or other confidential information.
- Probe, scan, scrape, rate-limit-abuse, or overload the site or its APIs, or interfere with other users.
- Misrepresent AI output as the work of a qualified human professional.
We may rate-limit, block, or remove access without notice for conduct we consider abusive, and may cooperate with law enforcement where required.
6. Intellectual property
Course text, diagrams, canvases, code, and illustrations are © Simon Elliston Ball except where explicitly credited otherwise. See the Credits page for attribution of source frameworks and collaborators. You may quote short excerpts for non-commercial educational use with attribution. For anything more, contact us.
Content you generate with the AI features (tutor responses, scenario feedback, canvas critique) is provided to you for your own use. We make no warranty that it is original, non-infringing, or that you own any rights in it — LLM output has complicated legal status and you assume responsibility for how you use it.
7. Third-party services
The site uses third-party providers including Vercel (hosting and AI Gateway), Anthropic (language models), Langfuse (LLM tracing), and PostHog (analytics, with your consent). Your use of the site is subject to their respective terms and any outages on their side may affect availability here. See the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Accounts and sign-in
Sign-in is optional and available through Google, LinkedIn, and GitHub. If you sign in, you agree to keep your account credentials secure and are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for breach of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by emailing us. On deletion, your synced artefacts are removed from our database within 30 days.
9. Availability
We do not guarantee uptime, response times, or continued availability of any feature. Course content, tools, and APIs may change or be withdrawn at any time. Your canvases and tutor chats are stored in your browser and, if you are signed in, also on our server — back them up if they matter to you.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that output from the AI features will be correct, complete, or suitable for any purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will the site operator be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site or any AI output produced by it, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the site is limited to one hundred pounds sterling (£100).
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify the site operator against any claim, loss, or damage arising from your misuse of the site, your breach of these terms, or your reliance on AI output in a regulated or safety-critical context.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except where local consumer-protection law grants you non-waivable rights in your country of residence.
14. Changes
We may revise these terms. Material changes will be flagged in the footer for at least 30 days. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
